South Ohio SWE needs 3 volunteers to serve as our 2013 Nominating Committee.

Responsibilities include:

Receive nominations for officers
Present the slate of officer candidates to the membership
Work with the Communications Chair to put out the ballots (via electronic survey)
Collect ballot results
Inform current President of election results.

On-going Outreach Volunteer Opportunities -Volunteer today!

There are many ways to be a part of SWE in South Ohio. Volunteering at one of the many outreach events at local (Dayton & Cincinnati) high schools, iSpace First Lego League or Girl Scouts is one of them. These events will leave you inspired and help the next generation aspire to be part of the exciting fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

We have lots of outreach opportunities from Jan through April this year!

Upcoming opportunities include being a mentor for Project Lead the Way, being a judge for iSpace FIRST Lego League (FLL) and Jr. FLL expo, Future Cities Competion, UC Science & Engineering Expo (SEE), or the Dayton Leadership Academy, participating in other eWeek activities and more.

Donate to the Judy Simmons Scholarship Fund

The Judy Simmons Scholarship Fund has been set-up at Fifth-Third Bank. We are working towards endowing this scholarship so Judy’s memory can be honored in perpetuity to do that we must raise $25,000. The scholarship will be awarded to collegiates in our region and we are hoping to have the first award go out in 2016. Currently we are around half our goal. Please consider donating today!

To donate, go to any Fifth-Third branch and ask for “Society of Women Engineers – Judy Simmons Scholarship Fund”. South Ohio SWE is a 501(3)c subordinate of the Society of Women Engineers.
