Committee Chairs are part of the Leadership team. They are responsible for but not limited to the activites outlined below. They are expected to attend general meetings and support SO SWE events when possible. Each position reports directly to a member of the Executive board.

Jessie Gmeinder |
About Jessie: Jessie is a Field Service Engineering for Alstom Power where she provides mechanical service and support to power industry specifically fossil fuel plants. She has a B.S. and Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Philosophy from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She enjoys Ultimate Frisbee, gardening and volunteering with Give Back Cincinnati particularly on the Paint the Town project. In previous years she has held the positions of communications and professional development chairs. Communications role: Coordinates section communications for consistent message. Maintains section website, blog, and social networking pages as needed. Coordinates listserv emails and membership mailings with the secretary. Fills in for secretary in event of unavailability. |

Chia-Chi Ho |
About Chia-Chi: Chia-Chi is an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. She has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from National Taiwan University, a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of Delaware, and Postdoc training at Harvard University. She is known for her expertise in engineering materials for separation, tissue engineering, and micro/nanotechnology tools for biology. She has published more than 38 journal papers and delivered more than 38 invited lectures and 70 presentations at conferences. She serves as session chairs for 15 professional meetings and is a reviewer for more than 30 journals or grant agencies. She is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Chemical Society, and the Materials Research Society. She enjoys traveling, dancing, gardening, and volunteering in the local schools. Membership role: Tracks membership statistics and work to increase paid members. Coordinates student upgrade dinners in the spring for all local colleges working with SWE Counselors. Keeps membership distribution mailing list up to date with current roster. Notifies secretary & communication chair of email address updates. Welcomes new section members with a phone call or e-mail and invite to upcoming events. Other membership ideas welcomed. |

Annmarie Thurnquist |
About Annmarie: Annmarie is a Senior Preconstruction Manager at Danis Building, where she manages early project services on commercial and institutional construction projects. She is also the firm’s Lean Construction Champion. During her career, Annmarie headed an estimating department which prepared in excess of $130 million in bids annually, managed projects in excess of 25 million, and was Director of Construction and Renovations at the University of Cincinnati. She holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Xavier University. Annmarie enjoys reading, puzzles of all kinds, and volunteering for the Cincinnati Association for the Blind, when she is not supporting the adventures of her husband and two teenage sons. Outreach Coordinator role: Leads organizational outreach to local High School students for our section. Plans involvement in at least one major outreach event typically during National Eweek in February and coordinates section involvement. Coordinates classroom visits for Career Days. Events may be new and sponsored by the section or existing events that need support. Chair can form committees and or select chairs for individual events. |
